Bits of Pieces

Best day of my life. Ever.

Last night, after work, Keith took me out.
He didn’t want me to know where we were going until we got there, so he made me choose a scarf (I picked my keyboard one) and I was blindfolded with it.
He drove to our destination going right around the houses so I couldn’t guess where we were.

We arrived at our destination and he led me out of the car, onto the pavement and sat me down. At a bus stop.

When we were teenagers, he’d come to my house every day. Every evening he’d leave at about 10pm and we’d spend 3 more hours just being us at the bus stop at the end of my road, deliberately missing bus after bus until the last one came and he had to leave. It’s the happiest place for me in the whole of that town.

Last night he took me to that very same bus stop. He sat me there, told me to take off my blindfold and there he was. Down on one knee holding out a ring.

And I’m getting tearful just thinking about it.
And of course I said yes.
And yesterday was the best day of my life. Ever.
